His son will have one tribe so that the descendants of David my servant will continue to reign, shining like a lamp in Jerusalem, the city I have chosen to be the place for my name.” 1 Kings 11:34, 36 NLT
O: God does not forget what he has promised to those who have come before us.
A: I can't get out of my mind what Grandmother said, "having pastors in my family must have skipped me." Solomon in his early Kingship followed God as David did but in his latter days his wives persuaded him otherwise. Therefore becuase of Solomons disobedience God does not continue his reign, but he doesn't forget what he has promised.
I don't know why Aunt Irene's side became Pastor's. I imagine they pursued what God called them too despite the oppression. Yet Grandmothers side was unable to have the oppression make room for them due to lack of faith. Nevertheless, the blessing of Grandmother was not forgotten. There was no one who would stand in the mist of there pain and trust God until a young girl dared to search out a love never felt so pure. She believed God, still trust God despite of those before her. My family is loyal and loving, passionate and respectful. We don't give up on those before us but we allow ourselves to be crippled by our surrounding. The blessings God has simply skipped them because they didn't seek him in the good and bad. They knew of God but didn't allow him to take over there heart. But God never forget the blessing and remembered what he had promised to Grandmother. Now, 4 generations later that blessing is coming to life.
P: God, oh sovereign Father. Please will you carry your servant to see her promise fulfilled. May she be there front and center as you bless me as a licensed minister. In your mighty name I pray, amen.
