S: “Just as Saul was finishing with the burnt offering, Samuel arrived. Saul went out to meet and welcome him, but Samuel said, “What is this you have done?” Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle. So I said, ‘The Philistines are ready to march against us at Gilgal, and I haven’t even asked for the LORD’s help!’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering myself before you came.” “How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you. Had you kept it, the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom must end, for the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart. The LORD has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD’s command.””
1 Samuel 13:10-14 NLT
O: Saul took matters into his own hands because he got impatient with Samuel and his men were slipping away. Saul was compelled, which made him act foolishly. It is better to wait on the Lord than to rush in and do things on your own way.
A: God has given me his command and I cannot resist the enemy alone. The more I accept the excuses, the less I fulfill for the cause of Christ. No matter who may slip away, I will keep Gods command and the Lord will establish my calling forever. No one will come and take my place because I lack anything. I will be Elizabeth Beenice Ellsworth.
P: Oh Sovereign God. There is none like you. You are magnificent and holy! You gift us and call us specifically to expand your kingdom. May we not turn from it all the say of our lives. May you establish my marriage, my parenting my education and my business. May your will be done. I thank you and praise you for all you are doing within me and through me. In Jesua name I pray, amen!
